STAR TREK
THE RETURN of the VORTA
LOGLINE
The final Weyoun clone travels into the past to seize the Earth once promised to him, forcing Uhura, Spock, and the crew of the Enterprise into a war across two timelines - one that can be won only if Uhura erases her own victory from history.
STORY
Long after the Dominion War, a final Weyoun clone emerges from hiding in a distant galaxy. Believed destroyed with the rest of his line, he has lived in isolation with only the Breen as allies. When he learns of his counterparts' deaths, he decides that the Founder’s promise of Earth did not die with them. It became his inheritance.
Using forbidden Breen temporal technology, Weyoun travels into the past and attacks the Federation at its most vulnerable point: before its greatest safeguards exist. He abducts Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, erases her memory, and exploits her voice, instincts, and command knowledge. Under his direction, kidnapped engineers and scientists construct the Enterprise Nero
II - an advanced black Federation vessel capable of firing while cloaked and absorbing weapons energy through its shields.
With Uhura installed as captain, the ship can cross Federation space, mimic Starfleet protocols, and turn the Federation’s own identity against it.
Weyoun’s larger plan reaches beyond conquest. On Earth, he hunts the engineers and scientists assigned to Project Relativity, the classified program destined to create the Federation time-ship that repairs damaged timelines. If the Relativity never exists, no one in the future can reverse his victory.
The Enterprise is nearly destroyed when Uhura’s vessel strikes from concealment. Even under Weyoun’s conditioning, however, fragments of her loyalty remain. She avoids disabling the Enterprise’s communications, allowing Kirk to warn Earth. Kirk and his crew improvise an antimatter mine that disrupts the black ship’s energy-absorbing shields, buying time
to escape and join the defense of the planet.
On Earth, Spock senses a profound wrongness beneath the conflict. After capturing one of Weyoun’s Vulcan operatives, he performs a mind meld and discovers the true objective: the destruction of Project Relativity and the permanent alteration of history. Through disciplined meditation, Spock reaches a Vulcan officer aboard the Relativity in the distant future. Across
centuries, they devise a single coordinated plan to collapse Weyoun’s artificial timeline from both ends.
As the Breen close around Earth and the Federation begins to fall, Kirk breaks through Uhura’s conditioning. Spock then reveals the terrible truth: the altered reality is anchored to her ship, its displaced crew, and Weyoun himself. To restore history, Uhura must destroy the Enterprise Nero II while Weyoun is aboard. She accepts, trusting Spock’s promise that
when the timeline heals, the life stolen from her will return.
Uhura turns her ship against the Breen, draws Weyoun aboard, and initiates the final sequence. The vessel vanishes in a temporal detonation. The original timeline reasserts itself. Earth is safe. Project Relativity survives. Though history no longer remembers the war, its guardians do: Uhura and Spock receive the Federation Medal of Honor and special dispensation to join the Relativity’s elite temporal team in the future.
In the restored present, Uhura awakens beside Kirk as a small C-shaped scar fades from her neck - the last physical echo of a life that never happened. Kirk asks what it meant. Uhura smiles: perhaps 'see you later.' When she wonders aloud whether she would make a good captain, Kirk answers with certainty: 'You were a great captain.'
