SYNOPSIS
In the parallel-universe metropolis of Sky City, Paul Clairstone awakens from a violent vision knowing that his identical twin, Phil, has been killed. The murder was a mistake, but the loss leaves Paul determined to find the men responsible. His search brings him to Tiye, an enigmatic off-planet visitor who can cross dimensions, enter memories, and pass her abilities to a worthy human receiver.
Paul accepts the transfer and gains invisibility, teleportation, memory access, accelerated healing, and control over time. His new power also makes him illegal under international law and forces him to hide the truth from the authorities. As he reconnects with his estranged father, protects the people closest to him, and closes in on Phil's killer, Paul learns that resurrection and revenge carry a price. Every intervention disturbs a larger balance, and his pursuit of justice draws the attention of forces far more dangerous than the criminals he is hunting.
THEMES AND WORLD
The Gift explores grief, responsibility, chosen family, redemption, and the danger of power without foresight. Sky City's fusion of steampunk design and modern life gives the story a distinct visual identity, while the conflict between Earth, off-planet visitors, and rival supernatural factions expands the mythology beyond one revenge story.
PRINCIPAL CHARACTERS
Paul Clairstone A content producer whose grief, loyalty, and moral judgment are tested when he becomes the human receiver of Tiye's gift.
Tiye A powerful off-planet guide whose affection for Paul complicates her mission and the rules governing her abilities.
Tara and Lyn Paul's partner and Phil's pregnant girlfriend, bound to the brothers by love, loss, and an unconventional family connection.
Sylvester Paul's estranged father, a wealthy former gangster seeking redemption and a relationship with his surviving son.
Ben Phil's killer, whose execution becomes the doorway to a new supernatural threat.
STORY POTENTIAL
The feature resolves Paul's pursuit of Phil's murderer while opening a larger conflict with Tripozious, a deadly trinity that recruits the newly resurrected Ben. Because Paul can extend his abilities without limit, the ending creates a natural foundation for sequels or an episodic series built around supernatural cases, moral consequences, and an expanding team of gifted allies.
