Dana Ann DaKinley—known to everyone as “Day”—has somehow packed several lifetimes into every twenty-four hours. By morning she is a respected corporate executive. By afternoon and evening she is a devoted wife and mother. At night she helps run the family restaurant and secretly protects the city as a powerful vigilante. Before dawn, she returns to her roots as a farm girl, then sees her children off to school and starts the cycle again.
Her secret is an experimental drug that suppresses her biological need for sleep and unlocks extraordinary physical abilities. The drug makes Day capable of doing what no ordinary person can—but every dose is shortening her life. Her obsession with saving everyone also costs her the intimacy of her marriage. When she finally steps away from crime fighting to repair her family, her husband is murdered by Harry, a police officer secretly working for the crime boss Day helped imprison.
Two years later, Harry has transformed himself from hidden enemy into trusted friend, protector and lover. He earns the confidence of Day and her children while quietly helping a clandestine science lab suppress her abilities with pills disguised as treatment. When Day’s daughter convinces her to stop taking them, her powers return—and so do her suspicions. An unexplained fortune in Harry’s account leads Day toward the truth: the man she plans to marry is still connected to the crime boss and is the man who killed her husband.
Day lures Harry away for a romantic weekend intending to kill him. Facing death, Harry reveals the one thing capable of stopping her: the laboratory possesses a time machine. Day forces him to take her back to the day her husband was murdered. Refusing to trust him, she makes Harry kill his earlier self. The paradox erases Harry from the timeline in a blinding flash—and saves her husband. But time has not forgiven the debt. The next day, Day’s son Daniel is killed in a hit-and-run. A sympathy card from the newly freed crime boss reveals the final truth: Harry was his son. Day saved her husband by taking away the crime boss’s child, and now he has taken hers. With the crime boss outside the country and beyond the law, Day begins a new mission—one no longer driven by justice, but vengeance.
THE SCIENCE & MYTHOLOGY
The technology behind Day’s powers, the suppressing medication and the time machine comes from the same clandestine research program: a scientific attempt to manipulate time at multiple scales. Day’s original drug alters biological time by overriding the body’s circadian shutdown; later medication neutralizes the effects; the laboratory’s most dangerous experiment manipulates chronological time itself. The governing rule is simple: time can be redirected, but its consequences cannot be erased. Someone always pays.

DANA “DAY” DAKINLEY — Executive, wife, mother, restaurateur, farmer and vigilante. Brilliant, disciplined and fiercely protective, Day’s greatest strength is also her flaw: she believes love means never allowing anyone else to carry the burden.
HARRY — A police officer, killer and son of the crime boss. Harry enters Day’s life through deception, but his relationship with her becomes dangerously real. He is both the architect of her grief and, eventually, a man with something genuine to lose.
DANIEL & DAY’S DAUGHTER — The emotional center of Day’s world. Her daughter becomes the first person to recognize that the medication is changing her mother, while Daniel’s death transforms the consequences of time travel from theoretical to devastatingly personal.
TONE & THEMES
NIGHT & DAY combines grounded family drama, noir crime, superhero mythology and high-concept science fiction. At its heart is a story about the impossible expectation of being everything to everyone, the physical and emotional cost of refusing to rest, and the difference between justice and revenge. The series asks whether love can survive secrecy, whether grief can ever justify changing the past, and what happens when a woman who has spent her life saving others finally decides that someone must pay.
