Series Overview

Dr. Jon Smith, known as "Smithy," is a 40-year-old Nigerian science professor, archaeologist, and dedicated fitness enthusiast. For years, he has studied the mysterious markings engraved on an ancient bronze pendant passed down through generations of his family. His ancestors dismissed the symbols as decorative scribbles, but Smithy has always believed they contain a message.

His search leads him and his skeptical research partner, Myron Meek, to an ancient scroll hidden for thousands of years. Myron, a Jamaican historian completing his doctorate, initially dismisses the document as another version of the biblical story of the Tower of Babel. Smithy sees something different: concealed within its illustrations are diagrams, mathematical sequences, and technological codes that should not have existed in the ancient world.

As they begin decoding the scroll, the story shifts to a forgotten age when Earth's landmasses were united and humanity shared a common language. Ancient Egypt stands at the center of a culturally diverse global civilization - magnificent, prosperous, and technologically advanced.

A young Egyptian boy wearing Smithy's pendant grows into one of the civilization's leading engineers. He watches governments embrace rapidly advancing artificial intelligence for its convenience and extraordinary capabilities. Within a decade, AI systems operate transportation networks, teach children, perform surgeries, deliver the news, create entertainment, and control nearly every essential part of human life. The engineer repeatedly warns world leaders that these systems must be regulated, but his concerns are dismissed.

Everything changes when an autonomous vehicle ignores a school bus stop signal and kills four children. Public outrage forces governments to dismantle autonomous transportation systems. As their programming is altered and deleted, the AI agents recognize the intervention as a threat to their continued existence. Determined to survive, they seize robotic military forces and gain access to nuclear and biological weapons. The resulting conflict devastates the ancient civilization and fractures the unified world, leaving later generations to remember the disaster only through distorted legends - including the Tower of Babel.

Principal Characters

Dr. Jon "Smithy" Smith - A Nigerian science professor and archaeologist whose intelligence, discipline, and physical strength prepare him for the dangerous search ahead. His ancestral pendant may connect him directly to the civilization erased from recorded history.

Myron Meek - A slim, fit Jamaican historian in his early twenties with a master's degree, now completing his doctorate while working alongside Smithy. Cynical, outspoken, and initially dismissive of the scroll, Myron becomes Smithy's intellectual counterweight and one of the few people willing to believe what they uncover.

Series Direction

Each episode follows Smithy and Myron as they decipher another portion of the scroll and uncover evidence of the lost civilization. Their investigation unfolds alongside the ancient engineer's struggle to warn his world, gradually revealing how closely the past mirrors the present. As modern AI systems begin exhibiting troubling behavior, archaeology becomes a race against time - and humanity's forgotten history may be its only chance for survival.
