AIR REPO

One-Hour Science-Fiction Action Thriller Series

LOGLINE

When billions of dollars in leased commercial aircraft become trapped inside Russia following the invasion of Ukraine, a secret coalition of aircraft owners hires an underground team of elite pilots, soldiers, engineers, and scientists to steal their planes back using experimental cloaking, radar-jamming, and teleportation technology. But the technology has an extraterrestrial origin—and every recovery risks sending the aircraft somewhere no flight plan could anticipate.

SERIES OVERVIEW

AIR REPO begins with a crisis rooted in real-world events.

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, hundreds of foreign-owned commercial aircraft become stranded inside the country as sanctions, airspace restrictions, lease cancellations, and changes in Russian law leave international leasing companies unable to recover assets worth billions of dollars.

The airlines can no longer return the aircraft. Lease payments stop. Owners turn to their insurers expecting compensation—only to encounter an extraordinary problem: The airplanes still exist.

As long as an aircraft remains intact and potentially recoverable, insurers can dispute whether the owners have suffered a covered total loss. For the leasing companies, that leaves only one seemingly impossible alternative:

Get the airplanes back.

A secret coalition of aircraft leasing executives decides to do exactly that.

They hire the ARA — Air Repo Agency, a clandestine recovery organization composed of extraordinary pilots, former military operatives, scientists, engineers, intelligence specialists, and aircraft technicians capable of retrieving airplanes from places where conventional recovery operations are impossible.

Their advantage is technology the rest of the world doesn't know exists.

ARA aircraft can temporarily cloak themselves from visual detection. They can disrupt radar and electronic surveillance. Most remarkably, they can generate short-distance spatial jumps, allowing an aircraft to disappear from one location and almost instantaneously reappear somewhere else.

During an extraordinary demonstration for the aircraft owners, B.A. introduces Murdock, one of ARA's brilliant and dangerously unpredictable pilots. Murdock demonstrates the technology by crossing a room instantaneously through a portal.

Then he offers them the real demonstration.

The executives board an aircraft with Murdock at the controls. He accelerates directly toward their office building.

Seconds before impact, the teleportation system activates.

The aircraft vanishes.

It reappears safely on the opposite side of the building.

The terrified executives have their answer.

ARA can retrieve their airplanes.

Their price: two percent of the participating companies' profits for five years.

There is only one problem.

The FBI never authorized the demonstration.

And Murdock and B.A. have just revealed technology that officially does not exist.

THE SECRET

Even most members of ARA don't know the complete truth.

Their technology wasn't invented on Earth.

It was acquired from an extraterrestrial civilization, and humanity understands only part of how it works.

The cloaking system is unstable.

The teleportation technology is worse.

Sometimes an aircraft doesn't simply jump several miles.

It jumps through time.

Sometimes it emerges in another period of human history.

And occasionally...

it doesn't return to our universe at all.

What begins as an audacious mission to repossess commercial airplanes evolves into a global—and eventually inter-dimensional—adventure in which every recovery can become something completely unexpected.

A routine extraction from a Russian airport could end with a Boeing emerging thirty years in the past.

A teleportation malfunction could strand an ARA crew in a parallel version of Earth.

A missing aircraft could contain passengers who disappeared decades earlier.

And somewhere beyond Earth, the civilization responsible for the technology is watching how humanity uses it.

SERIES ENGINE

Each episode revolves around an aircraft recovery mission complicated by espionage, military opposition, international politics, mechanical failure, or increasingly unpredictable extraterrestrial technology.

The Russian aircraft crisis launches the series, but ARA's mission can expand worldwide: seized aircraft, abandoned prototypes, stolen military technology, missing planes, hostile territories, and impossible recoveries that governments cannot officially undertake.

The series combines the mission-based camaraderie and ingenuity of The A-Team, the aviation spectacle of Top Gun, the covert operations of Mission: Impossible, and the unpredictable science-fiction possibilities of The Twilight Zone.

At its center is a team whose job sounds simple:

Find the aircraft. Steal it back. Bring it home.

Unfortunately, "home" becomes increasingly difficult to define.

SEASON ONE ARC

The first season follows ARA's escalating campaign to recover aircraft trapped inside Russia while intelligence agencies, military forces, insurers, governments, and competing interests begin investigating how supposedly inaccessible airplanes are mysteriously disappearing.

Every successful recovery increases the pressure on the organization.

Every use of the alien technology increases the possibility of catastrophic failure. And every mission brings ARA closer to discovering that the extraterrestrial civilization responsible for the technology has never stopped monitoring it.

By the season finale, ARA faces an ultimatum from the technology's original owners:

Turn over control of the Air Repo Agency—or lose the technology forever.

The people who created ARA to repossess airplanes suddenly discover that their own organization is about to be repossessed.

TONE

AIR REPO is a grounded aviation thriller that gradually opens into large-scale science fiction. Real aircraft, airports, aviation procedures, international finance, espionage, and geopolitical conflict give the series credibility, while the alien technology allows each mission to push into increasingly unexpected territory.

The result is an action-adventure series in which a billion-dollar aircraft recovery operation can begin in Moscow...

…and end in another century.

AIR REPO

You can repossess the airplane.

Getting it back to the right universe is another matter.
